Cristina Fernández Celebrates 25 Years at Transglory – We Sat Down for a Special Interview

This month, we’re celebrating a very special milestone at Transglory: Cristina Fernández, part of the commercial team at our Valencia branch, is marking 25 years with the company. Her journey has been a firsthand witness to Transglory’s evolution over the past two and a half decades, and her commitment, professionalism, and passion for her work are an inspiration to us all.

To commemorate this anniversary, we sat down with Cristina for an interview, where she shared her thoughts, experiences, and most memorable moments. Cristina, thank you for your dedication and for being such an important part of our story!

1. What has motivated you to stay with the company for so long?
The same thing that motivated me to join in the first place: the challenge of helping start and grow a new project in Valencia. That spirit of enthusiasm and growth is still alive today, and it’s what has kept me here.

2. What have been the biggest changes you’ve seen in the company over the years?
I wouldn’t call them changes as much as an evolution. In essence, Transglory is still the same—our focus has always been on delivering excellent service to our clients and agents. But we’ve become more mature, more professional, and more efficient in how we’re organized. The most significant shifts came in response to changes in customs regulations, port rules, and transport laws, which we embraced as opportunities. We improved our IT systems, invested in digitalization, restructured departments, implemented internal training, and brought in new talent with valuable experience.

3. What would you say has been your biggest achievement or contribution at Transglory?
That might be a question for someone else to answer, but after some thought, I’d say it was helping establish the Transglory name in Valencia. In the early days, we didn’t have direct services, and we had to earn the trust of the market while defending our neutral position. I always spoke proudly and respectfully about the company, and over time, we gained the support of freight forwarders and operators.

4. What skills or qualities do you think are essential for success?
Beyond formal education and technical knowledge, I believe success comes from commitment, dedication, perseverance, social skills, a positive mindset… and above all, a strong sense of belonging that helps you work as a team toward a shared goal.

5. How has your role or your responsibilities changed over time?
I started in import operations and shortly after was given the responsibility of managing the branch. That included commercial duties, coordinating operations teams, budget control, negotiating with suppliers and agents, and going on sales trips. Today, I’m part of the Valencia commercial team, handling clients from the Valencia region, Murcia, the Balearic Islands, and the Canary Islands.

6. What has been your biggest challenge at Transglory, and how did you overcome it?
The biggest challenge was gaining the trust of our local clients when all our services were routed through the port of Barcelona. We overcame it by joining forces and proving to our clients that they could rely on us to handle cargo between both ports without increasing costs or reducing service quality. A unified IT system also gave us national-level visibility. Today, that challenge is long behind us.

7. What advice would you give to someone just starting out at Transglory?
Make the most of the opportunity and commit fully. Be curious, ask questions, enjoy your work, and connect with as many areas of the business as possible to gain a broad, global perspective. It truly makes a difference.

8. How do you think digital transformation has impacted your work?
Completely! In my current role, it makes accessing data and information so much faster and helps me make decisions more efficiently. Overall, I think Transglory is operating at a very high level of digitalization across all departments, which allows us to respond to clients quickly—and thankfully, we no longer see those piles of paperwork cluttering the offices!

🎉 From the entire Transglory team, we want to congratulate Cristina on 25 years of dedication, passion, and professionalism. Thank you for being part of our journey—and for helping write our story every day!
